New Jersey Monthly Magazine

New Jersey Monthly Magazine: Best of Jersey: Good Eating (Feb. 2008) recognizes The Macaroon Shop as "the Best Bakery in New Jersey!"

Specialty cakes from the Macaroon Shop in Avon-by-the-Sea include the signature Hamburger Cake, but the 16- to 18-inch-high holiday varieties are also festive and delicious.

Our fave: the Thanksgiving Stuffed Turkey (yellow cake with chocolate-fudge filling and buttercream frosting), which looks so much like the real bird, you might not know it’s a cake until you carve it.

The same award was given to the Macaroon Shop in March 2006.
